SHADOWS OF SOULS
SAMPLE PASSAGE FROM SHADOWS OF SOULS:
Elgion
crawled into the cavern, looking for the Guardian, but all that
greeted his
vision
were various sized hills of various shades of green, red, blue,
black, purple,
gold,
and colors he had never before seen, with smoke curling about them.
These
great
mounds and small ones he knew could be none other then the Sleeping
Ones,
the
Dragons which he sought.
Out
of the thick smoke the Guardian appeared before him and threw wide
his arms, "Behold Narse Ar Körály, the last bastion of The
Avaeniri, The Sleeping Ones! Do not be deceived by our numbers. When
they awaken many will alas succumb to their wounds from the last War
of Fire, and crumble into the dust.' there was a momentary pause
before the Guardian spoke again, 'So wake them. I am curious to see
how you shall accomplish it."
The
Nathrak King grimly made his way through the nests of eggs, and great
mounds until he stood before a massive black dragon. He locked eyes
with that deep purplish black depths that stared into a world of
dreams. Elgion the Fourth raised up his right hand and began to
incant the ancient spell that had been passed down throughout the
Ages from Nathrak King to Nathrak Prince, "Anulyx Nathrak, oroth
bahair ethod dae kel denmaharl. Anulyx Nathrak, oroth bahair ethod
dae kel denmaharl." His hands making the proper gestures as he
had continued to speak the ancient words of sorcery that bound
Nathrak to Avaenir.
He
felt the surge of energy raising up, and the smoke of the black
dragon's breath curling about him. He continued to chant as he heard
the amused laughter of the Guardian ringing in his ears as he tried
to ignore him and continue to chant. Then the black dragon's massive
tail lashed out, breaking the chant and sending the Nathrak King
flying through the air to bump into the red dragon not far from it.
He held his aching chest and stood. He felt as though a rib had
been
broken from that heavy tail smashing into him. He looked to see that
the black dragon had shifted but still remained asleep. But he would
not be daunted by that fact. It was his destiny to wake the Avaeniri,
and he knew it, fore why else would the Kalkirkujä
Gamul order him into the Crystal Stair Mountains to wake The Sleeping
Ones.
Elgion
looked at the red dragon's sleeping eyes, and spoke the incantation
once more, this time focusing his energy upon waking the red dragon,
"Anulyx Nathrak, oroth bahair ethod dae kel denmaharl!"

I also very close to the end of Chapter Nine of Wurm's Blood. The only problem is that I am not sure what to entitle Chapter Ten. Hopefully something will come to me while I am writing it or after I have written it.
